Workshop on "Toric geometry and applications"

This workshop is part of the 1995-96 Warwick EPSRC Algebraic Geometry Symposium, and is organised jointly with G.K. Sankaran. The main topics will be toric geometry and its applications in geometry, including C* actions, classification of singularities and flips, and relations with symplectic geometry.

Note that the previous week there will be a workshop intended as an introduction to the activities of the Warwick year, with the overall title "Curves, surfaces, 3-folds, ...". The next event of the Warwick year is a period on 3-folds, and a number of participants of the 3-folds activity should be around.
