Workshop on Complex Dynamics

Tan Lei and Sebastian van Strien

3rd - 5th December 1998

Adrien Douady will talk on recent developments on the proof of LMC (local connectivity of the Mandelbrot set), following ideas of Perez Marco.

Other visitors from Orsay (and other parts of France) are Michel Zinsmeister, Pierrette Sentenac, Margeritte Flexor, Pascal Roesch.

Henk Bruin (CALTECH) will also be visiting Warwick (probably in the same period).

For this opportunity we would like to organise a small workshop on complex dynamics. Everybody is welcome.

We have no funding for local expenses or travel. However, the Mathematics Research Centre of the department will be most happy to help you with finding accommodation (e-mail: hazel@maths.warwick.ac.uk please also inform us of your plans).

Please let us know if you would like to give a talk. We shall try to make a schedule (with possibly short talks if necessary).

Please pass on this information to anybody who might be interested.

Several people from Orsay are visiting Warwick (through an 'Alliance' grant).
