6th Postgraduate Group Theory Conference
About

About PGGT 2004

Who is the conference for?
The conference is aimed at UK, European and other postgraduate students who are currently working towards obtaining a PhD in mathematics in an area related to group theory. One of the main intentions is to bring students together in an unintimidating atmosphere. All participants are encouraged to give a 20 minute talk about their research, however this is by no means obligatory.

When?
From Wednesday 24th March to Friday 26th March, 2004.

The conference will run from registration and the opening talk by Prof. Thomas early on Wednesday afternoon; to Friday afternoon, finishing with lunch on Friday and the closing talk from Dr. Everitt.

Where?

This year the conference is hosted by the University of Warwick. Talks will be held at the Institute of Mathematics and accommodation will be on campus most likely in Rootes Residences. Directions are given on the travel page.

How much?
Registration began on the 6th of February and will close on the 14th of March. The registration fee for the even is £80 (with LMS subsidy). For more information on the registration process please see the Register page. We expect that most students should be able to claim back the registration fee from their own department using whatever mechanism exists there for claiming for research expenses.

Anything else?
If you have any further queries, please contact the organizers.
