Probabilistic and statistical
methods are becoming increasingly important for understanding deterministic
dynamical systems. These methods come into play in two main ways:The first,
more classical, is through the study of statistical properties of a given class
of systems. The second is through the methods used to prove the existence of
specific kinds of systems. One of the main of this programme is to unify European
efforts in this direction..
The Scientific Programme "Probabilistic Methods in non-Hyperbolic Dynamics (PRODYN)" offers different types of grantsbbbbbb for both young and senior scientists to foster exchange and joint experiments relevant to the Programme. The Steering Committee which is guiding the programme is composed of expert scientists nominated by ESF Member Organisations in 11 countries (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom).
